One pair of mittens

I need to block them still, but wanted to show them. Mittens, for my partner for the Mitten Swap. Design is mine, and I hope they will suit my partner. Three colours are used, all from Sandnes Garn (scandinavia) Approximately 250 meter of yarn was used in total.

Slippers for Wietse

A little yarn eater with cold feet... hard to imagine. He is pulling his socks out. So I went out of my knitting blues state and grabbed the needles to knit him a small pair of slippers, using CPY Panda Wool in the colour Misty Greens. He likes them thus far... but if he will keep them on his feet???

Finished

Just one wrist warmer. And a gift, but I can't show you yet, because that is a secret to my Cocoa swap pal, until she gets it. :-)
The wrist warmer is made out of Panda Silk... and actually planned for me. But Alexa thought it was Smexy and asked if she could have it. So I could not say no...LOL!

"Music"

This pair of socks is finished. "Music" is my own design, and the pattern will hopefully appear in Friendly socks book 3. The yarn used is Panda Wool, colour Aquamarine.

I have something to show...

The cardigan is ready, and sent to T. It has the same pattern as the dress. I am proud...and like the end result.

I also made time to knit a winter hat for Wietse. He is growing fast, our youngest :-) And my! He is teething rapidly; in the past week 3 teeth came through

We have been celebrating too... this past Sunday our Steven celebrated his 14th birthday. He's a tall one; same size as his mom. And today our congrats go out to my father in law - he celebrates his 78th birthday today

Finished socks

I can't show a picture, but I knitted two pairs of socks as a test knit. Jeane Frisbee is the designer, and the pattern will appear in Friendly Socks Book 3. More info about the book can be found in time here.

I do have something else to show though... a picture that I took recently of the UFO that has been built to mark the shopping mall in Zoetermeer. A fitness center is created inside of it.

Two other projects were done as well; first of all a little sweater for Wietse and also a wrist warmer in Regia Galaxy 1557; that was left over of the ball that I used to knit the pair of socks with. Wonderful yarn!

Sockapalooza socks ready

Small update... my pair of sockapalooza socks are ready. I have to make the photo though, but they turned out nice with a double horizontal cable in it.

I started a sweater in blue for a change. For my youngest...and the back of the sweater is almost done. In fact, the weather in our country is inviting to stay indoors, and knit... so that is what I'll be doing. Photos are following soon.

And a pair of socks finished

... this morning early I finished a pair of socks for my husband. They were done in Trekking XXL 180, a colour he picked! They came ready with a small delay as this week some renovations have been made in our house. The kitchen is renewed, as well as the central heating system. You can imagine that it was a mess in our house.

And this is the yarn that was left from knitting a pair size 11

Next project: socks for my Sockapalooza pal!

The flu... it got us

It started last week. Coughing and sniffing. My oldest son got the flu, infected his brother and now dad is having it too. 50% of this household is down with the flu. Only the ladies and the baby are "up and running". Alexa has to - she has a science exam later today if I am correct. She is learning and learning...sometimes I really feel sorry for her. But what I really do hope is that the exam will be a breeze today; she has done her best for it

The hat...
It is knitted out of a left over ball Trekking XXL. It is so cute and flexible, and it suits Wietse's head. LOL! It truely comes in handy to knit for babies when you have one around... This hat is not for him though - it will be shipped to Canada, to a friend of mine, who ordered it. In every way I like it!

Yarn...
I had to hunt for it online this time - with so many people sick in the house it is hard to get out and get some. I ordered some nice sock yarns at Wolhallaand when it arrives I will start a pair for my husband first. His socks are a challenge, as the toe will be shaped according to his feet - so not standard. Then I will have plenty of time to knit for my sock pal as well - her socks have to be shipped by the end of July. I will also send out my SP10's parcel this week - the only thing I have to get is a box to ship out...LOL! So that is a trip to the post office first to get a decent one.

Also on my to do list:
Get some blue buttons for Wietse's sweater!
Start packing things I don't use in the kitchen as that needs to be cleared by the 31st - the housing company is building in a new kitchen that day.

Another pair of baby socks, plus a pair of mittens

I used the same pattern as the previous pair. Yarn: Opal KollektionsEntwicklung.

These were a fast knit - I started Tuesday evening and finished them yesterday. The pattern is made up by me, and I used the Merino that my Secret Pal sent me recently. Though it is not really time to wear mittens, it sure feels like autumn here with all the rain we had in the past few days. I think the tulips are cute.

The pattern is available here:

Small socks

Now and then it is necessary to knit a small pair of socks. Wietse grew out of the socks I already knitted, so in this case I needed to knit up a pair for him. I used a left-over bit of Opal yarn for this pair.

Yesterday I also received my parcel from my Secret Pal. I sent her a note already and promised to make a photo of the goodies this morning. Thank you Secret Pal!

Yesterday morning Wietse was lying on my knee, after his "breakfast". Within an hour after making this picture, we were in Berkel Centrum to do some grocery shopping - during the walk (2.5 kilometers to get there and back) he slept. The photo was turned though...

The sweater I knitted for Wietse, for colder days. April is one of the warmest months thus far, so I imagine that in the summer there might be some colder days, as the seasons are really messed up this year.

Sometimes things don't go the way I like. I promised to place a photo of a sweater that I knitted for Wietse, but unexpected appointments kept me from updating. I also have to make the photo. Hope to do that early next week.

I also prepared the first package for my SP 10 pal. One thing to add, and Monday it will go in the mail.

Yesterday I had to go to the youth health care center with Wietse. Weigh, measure and stuff like that - the normal drill for people with newborn children. Wietse grew nicely - his length is now 55.5 centimeters and he weighs a whopping 10 pounds now. The doctor there said that my milk is super;Wietse also starts to sleep through the nights now. So no complaints in that area.

Knitting... I drew a pattern out for a pair of socks...and started to knit but it seems that I missed a yo and noticed it too late... so I had to frog it twice... Hopefully the third time it will work...(where are my stitch markers!!!)
