Dear Breien in Lansingerland.I am also a Breien, living in Colorado, USA. There are a very, very few Breiens in the USA, coming from an old farm in Norway. In Norwegian the name, which is about 2000 years old, means a "broad and fruitful field". I understand that in Dutch the name means "knitting".
Hehehe! My family name is so rare, that it is not counted as existing in the US. I know they are there, though, and there are lots of search engines that can find them/us ;-).Anyway, none of my overseas cousins carries my first name, as far as I know.
There are 654 people with my name in the US. I am unoriginal. Sigh.Your Secret Pal
