Een fins bloemetje/ A Finnish flower

Surfing over Blogspot's pages I came on the page of Vilma. (http://vilman.blogspot.com) She had a pretty flower on her page, with the description in Finnish. I don't understand a word Finnish though, but decided to follow the numbers and watch the images to make myself a flower. I crocheted it in Opal Hagebutte and crochet needle 1.5. I have to work out the notes I made in Dutch now, as my daughter wants to try and make one herself.

  1. That's so funny! I just stopped by myself in the same blog, though, I understand Finnish much better... I was thinking it would be possible to make a keychain of this flower as well, as you did with the one some time ago.

  2. Thank You! I´m busy some next weeks. But when I have my summer holidays, I would stay in our summer cottage on one little island in lake Päijänne in Middle- Finland. In holidays I would to make this flower-key-ring. You can see later!:)

  3. Hey, you did it, great! :) Had to come and see for myself how the dutch version of my flower looks like. Nice to know that my work-in-progress photos of the different phases of crocheting the flower helped you to figure out the pattern. :D

  4. Now, this is beautiful - especially considering the fact that you followed the pattern without understanding Finnish!

  5. I also love Vilmas flowers and I'm going to make flower bag as well! How nice to see how internet spreads ideas and connects all the knitters (and crocheters) together.

  7. I love the flower!! I found a pattern in an old IK for flower facecloths. I think I'm going to make several for sister-in-law for Christmas--paired with a nice soap. I can't tackle the Finnish, so it'll have to be the IK version for me~~although I do love the one you posted!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! The sock yarn is lovely to knit with, and I'm almost to the place where I need to work the heel flap/extension/whatever since I'm knitting toe-up. I'll be posting updates.
