I have been working on a pair of Grolse Wanten again. These were ordered as a present for a gentleman's birthday. His daughter contacted me, with the question if I could knit a pair for him, and I did. I have to say that the challenge was the thumb, and the space needed to let the hand function properly into the mitten. My husband's hand as test hand was an excellent guideline as the sizes of the gentleman's hand and my husband's hand were practically similar.
The yarn I used was Lana Grossa Merino Big, in blue, white and red - on DPN 3.5 mm
Now I have to rewrite the pattern for gentlemen's mittens, but that will be a breeze. The gentleman who received the mittens as a belated birthday gift was deeply touched - I personally hope he will enjoy them for a long time!
